Hi everyone,
My name is Randy. I am 25, and I have Down Syndrome. I grew up in South Florida. I lived there until I graduated high school, and I still visit my mom there.
Now, I live in Jacksonville. I moved there to go to college. I went to University of North Florida. It is a small college, but it felt big to me. I love sports, and like watching all the UNF teams play. I made lots of friends at UNF. I met Ozzie the mascot. He is an Osprey, and we SWOOP together. In college, I learned to go to class, eat yummy food, and live by myself. I had an apartment and roommates. I learned to eat healthy, kind of J, and exercised at the gym. My favorite is Spin class. I was in UNF Best Buddies, made friends everywhere and that made me happiest.
After I graduated, I moved to the Arc Village in Jacksonville. Today, I work at Mercedes Benz in Orange Park. I am a greeter. You should come visit me there. J I also have worked as a host at some restaurants in Jacksonville, and even worked at the Arc in the marketing department.
Something I love to do is travel. That is how I met Eric and went to Something Different. My mom and I were visiting our good friends in Philadelphia, and they introduced us to Eric. And, guess what, I was born in Philadelphia. Don’t tell anyone, but I am not an Eagles fan…I like the Dolphins, even when they lose a lot.
I am a kind person, and smart. I feel special and honored to write this for you to read. I hope everyone likes it, and feels more energy to go out and do something they did not think they could because they read this.
I hope to write more. Check back soon!
Your friend,
Randy
