Michael Johnson

In 2007, Alexander’s Angels came across the works off Michael Johnson, contacted the East Meadow Library, and found space for a solo exhibition to coincide with Long Island’s First Buddy Walk® at Eisenhower Park in the same town.

In 2008, a committee consisting of some members of Alexander’s Angels Board was formed. The name “DOWNrightART” was approved unanimously by Alexander’s Angels Board of Directors. More artists were sought and found, and the first exhibition took place in January 2009

Michael is a freelance artist who does portraits and illustrations. He supports himself with his art and gives back to the community.

Mike Myers, Hillary Clinton, Sen. John McCain, Liam Neesen, Steven Spielberg, Anna Quindlen and Tracy Ullman are some of the celebrities that own Michael’s artwork.

Michael has competed and received several coveted prizes.
